Opening "plastic things" in America
America...the greatest country in the world...Why is it then that grown people still can't open items without there being some type of negative consequences. I mean seriously, what's the problem. After 31 years of life, one should be able to open a box of cereal without ruining the plastic bag that contains it. I just got some cereal out of a bag that looks like a pit bull attacked it. A side note here... I have been especially blessed with the ability to open things better than most. Especially cereal. So, the box of Honey Bunches of Oats in question is not a result of my opening abilities. However, I can't help by think that most Americans have trouble opening everyday items. Have you ever tried to open a battery charger. You are lucky if you can get it out of the box without leaving your hand behind. Or how about about a flash drive. It's a $4.99 piece of plastic. Yet, it's surrounded by an impenetrable barrier of plastic and adhesive. Another side note...As I mentioned earlier, I have an uncanny ability to open plastic items. Just today, I had a set of barbecue tools practically jump out of the plastic in which it was bound. So, we need to get to the bottom of this. Is this a matter of America failing it's youngsters? Are we spending too much time in school teaching the three R's and not enough time on basic everyday "life skills?" Or, are the manufacturer's expecting too much out of us? Maybe there should be some type of government intervention (I threw that out there in case there are any liberals reading this amazing blog) forcing companies to offer a free training course on how to effectively open a product. As I wrap up my first "real" blog, I must admit that my attention was torn between watching Sports Center and writing this blog. So, I can't be responsible for any grammatical errors (or any other kind for that matter). What do you expect from me when Northern Iowa upsets #1 Kansas?

My First Blog
After weeks of being bombarded with requests to start a blog, I am happy to announce that I have done just that. I have created a blog. And this is it. I know many of you will be anticipating my blogs daily, but more than likely, I will only post 1 or 2 a week, so be patient. Thanks for your interest...
